Delegate Ron George, District 30

Education

Ron was born in Syracuse New York on August 30, 1953. Raised in Howard County from 1953 to 1971, he spent his summers on the Chesapeake Bay. He graduated from Atholton High School in 1971. After graduating from Bowman Technical School (Lancaster, PA) for Jewelry Making and
Design in 1973 he attended Syracuse University where he went on to receive BFA degree in 1978. Ron continued his education earning a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychological Sciences in 2005.

Family

In 1981, Ron married Becky Skinner and moved to Annapolis Maryland where they raised their six children. They are currently the proud Grandparents of two grandchildren.

Business

Ron is an experienced Small Business Owner having founded Ron George Jewelers on Main Street Annapolis in 1991. In 2007, he expanded to a second location. In addition Ron also ran the The State House Inn from 2002 to 2007.

Volunteer

Ron is the founder of The Center For Family Development (est.2002) in Crownsville where he worked as the Volunteer Director till 2008. Prior to that he was Volunteer Director of The Conquest Boys Club from 1998 to 2002, he was a co-founder of St. Peter the Rock Tutorial School and was a Volunteer Board Member of the National Homeschooler’s Support Network from 1998 to 2009.
